It was back in 2018 when former American actress and current Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle deleted all her social media accounts before her marriage to Prince Harry. But now after a hiatus of almost six years she is back on Instagram and this time to launch her own business venture.
Her new venture is a lifestyle brand that she has named “American Riviera Orchard”. According to the trade mark registration the brand has everything from cook book and preserves like jellies and jams to pet related items like bird seed and leashes. (Hamedy, 2024)
It seems like her social media engagement and new venture was well received by the public as her account gained over two hundred thousand with hours of her posting. But as always controversy was not too far behind for the Duchess of Sussex as some of have called into question the timing of her business venture.
Because right now two things of note her happening with her in laws the Royal Family. King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer back in February, and has been advised by doctors to limit his public engagements and even personal contacts.
Secondly while the Duchess of Sussex’s social media post was well received, that was not the case of Princess of Wales Catherine who was not seen in the public for some time now and when the Royal family did share a picture it sparked controversy for being photo shopped.
