Essential features of Merit Scholarship:

1.      Who Can apply: All the students of GIIS Surat campus following the CBSE curriculum and are in Grade 7-12 can apply for the merit scholarship. The scholarship will help meritorious candidates to get a platform to improve and shape their future. 

2.      Tenure: The GIIS FUTURE READY Merit Scholarship is offered for two years. ​There is no cash or other alternative to the scholarship in whole or in part unless otherwise provided in GIIS sole and unfettered discretion. The scholarship will only be continuing in the second year if the students get at least a score equivalent to the category for which they have received the scholarship. If the school feels otherwise, then the scholarship can be withdrawn at any point of time at the school’s discretion. 

3.      Eligibility Criteria: All the students of GIIS can apply for the Merit scholarship, but only those who fulfil the eligibility criteria, will be shortlisted. The eligibility criteria for the scholarship is as mentioned below:

∙ Applicants must be Residents/ Permanent Residents.

∙ Academic performance of the past two years.

The final decision for the scholarship will solely be on the GIIS scholarship committee.

4.      Scholarship Value: The scholarship value varies for various grades. With the same grade too, based on each candidate’s academic performance, different categories of the scholarship will be awarded. The distribution of scholarship is as follows:

For Grade 11-12

The scholarship is eligible for a tenure of 2 years and is divided into three categories:

Category A: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with a percentage of 96.01% and Above and IGCSE / GCE/ GCSE “0” Levels Students: A* in 9 Subjects. The scholarship is 50% of the tuition fees. 

Category B: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with percentage 94.01% to 96.01% and IGCSE / GCE/ GCSE “0” Levels Students : A* in 8 Subjects. The scholarship is 35% of the tuition fees. 

Category C: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with percentage 90% -94% and IGCSE / GCE/ GCSE “0” Levels Students : A* in 7 Subjects. The scholarship is 25% of the tuition fees. 

2. Merit Scholarship For Grade 9-10:

The scholarship is divided into four categories: 

a) Category A: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with percentage 97.01% and Above and for CLSP/ CAIE Levels Students A* in 9 Subjects. The scholarship is 20% of the tuition fees. 

b) Category B: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with percentage 95.01%-97.0% and for CLSP/ CAIE Levels Students A* in 8 Subjects. The scholarship is 15% of the tuition fees. 

c) Category C: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with percentage 93.01% to 95% and for CLSP/ CAIE Levels Students A* in 7 Subjects. The scholarship is 12% of the tuition fees. 

d) Category D: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with percentage 90% to 93% and Above and for CLSP/ CAIE Levels Students A* in 6 Subjects. The scholarship is 10% of the tuition fees. 

3.      For Grade 7-8:

The scholarship is divided into four categories: 

a) Category A: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with percentage 97.01% and Above and for CLSP/ CAIE Levels Students A* in 9 Subjects. The scholarship is 20% of the tuition fees. 

b) Category B: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with percentage 95.01%-97.0% and for CLSP/ CAIE Levels Students A* in 8 Subjects. The scholarship is 15% of the tuition fees. 

c) Category C: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with percentage 93.01% to 95% and for CLSP/ CAIE Levels Students A* in 7 Subjects. The scholarship is 12% of the tuition fees. 

d) Category D: For the CBSE / ICSE / State Boards / Other Boards Students with percentage 90% to 93% and Above and for CLSP/ CAIE Levels Students A* in 6 Subjects. The scholarship is 10% of the tuition fees.

Thus, the scholarship is not applicable for Grade 6. If a student in Grade 6 fulfils the eligibility criteria, he or she can apply for the scholarship after qualifying grade 6, by filling the application form and uploading the relevant documents.
