Everyone has heard of the game Pacman. This is an iconic game that was revolutionary when it came out in 1980. It has spawned many games where the character will eat things like dots, fruit, and ghosts. It was also one of the first arcade games to be ported to home consoles. The new Pacman 30th Anniversary is a new take on this classic game that is both nostalgic and innovative with stunning graphics
This year marks the Pacman 30th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, Namco has released Pacman 30th Anniversary. This game has a new twist on the classic game. Same characters, same maze and same concept but enhanced with stunning graphics.
Pacman 30th is a game of mazes and multiplayer modes that will keep players entertained for hours. There are six different arcade games included in this package, including classic Pacman, Pacman Plus, Super Pacman, Ms Pacman, Pacmania and 3D PAC-MAN plus a host of new multiplayer modes that allow up to four players to compete against each other
Pacman is about eating the dots throughout the maze while avoiding the ghosts that chase you. The new Pacman 30th Anniversary comes with six different games. Classic Pacman is the same as the original but with ultra smooth 3D graphics. Pacman Plus, Super Pacman and Ms Pacman are also enhanced versions of the original games. The only difference between Ms Pacman and Superpac man is that in Ms pac-Man you have to eat the fruit instead of the dots.
3D PAC-MAN is a completely new game, where you can control your character and explore mazes in 3D. You will also get swallowed by ghosts if you come too close to them. The new multiplayer modes are also exciting because they allow up to four players to compete against each other using one machine. There is no need to share machines and you can even play the various games in different rooms of your house. Even if you don’t have a video game console, you can still experience the joys of Pacman with this awesome package.
The game comes in a nice box with different cover designs for consoles. The 3D PAC-MAN is a unique design and looks appetizing. It would look great displayed in your living room on your big television. In order to play the games, you will need an actual arcade machine or an arcade stick that supports controllers. However, the good thing about this is that it will work just as well on portables such as iPods and mp3 players.

How do players play the Pacman 30th anniversary game?
The 2011 Pacman 30th Anniversary game is a remake of the original ‘Pac-Man’. This re-imagined version features new graphics and sound, three different modes to play and achievements to earn.
Players control four ghosts in this game: Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde. Each ghost has their own personality and character traits. After every few levels you will be rewarded with a bonus life for each one killed during that level. Players can move up to twice as fast by holding down the Up arrow key while pressing the Left or Right arrow keys. To activate special power pellets players need to eat them when they become available from killing an enemy or other object on screen such as fruit, dots or walls. Each ghost has there own special power. Players can see the ghosts and their power by pressing the space key. Some power pellets can be changed to another type of pellet by pressing the space bar and a new one will appear in that slot if one is available, otherwise it will not register as eaten.
Players can ‘aim’ at enemies by using the left mouse button. This is mainly used when there are multiple enemies in a row or on fixed platforms where it’s pretty easy to see which one you are meant to hit. If a player eats an enemy, their character will gain a shield. If an enemy or the player is hit again when the shield is in place, the ghost that was hit will be lost.
Players can earn achievements for reaching certain objectives like eating all enemies in one stage without dying. Achievements can also be unlocked by getting points such as eating all fruit in one level to get a cherry, then eat every cherry in that level within a set time to get a strawberry and so on.
THE NEW MODE AND POWER-UPS: There are three different modes that players can play: Game A (the original), Game B (Pacman with bonus levels) and Game C (a version of Pacman with power-ups).
IN THE GAME A MODE, players must play a set of levels which are broken up into three sections. They are called Salad, Watermelon and Crystal Ball. Each level has a colour that is associated with it.
In the NORMAL (RED) STAGE, each level contains a pirate ship which will be referred to as the ‘Screw-head’. The objective here is to get all the dots on screen (which are also screws) to come in contact with the ship’s screwdriver (unlockable at level 45). When all dots have been collected, proceed onto the next stage.
