It is the awards season and just two weeks back we saw Screen Actors Guild Awards on Netflix for the first time and tomorrow, it will be Oscars Night. Between these two events, we had the 44th Golden Raspberry Awards, or Razzies for short today.
While the Oscars celebrate the very best cinema has to offer, Razzies go the other way and this was the year of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey with the movie being nominated for five awards and winning them all. (Cava, 2024)
The movie won Worst Picture, Worst Director with the award going to Rhys Frake-Waterfield, Worst Screenplay, Worst Remake or Rip off, and Worst Screen Couple. The live-action horror film was able to win three of the biggest awards.
However, in the acting department, it wasn’t Winni the Pooh: Blood and Honey actors who were able to win. Instead, we got to see some of the more prominent names, with Megan Fox winning both Worst Actress for Johnny & Clyde and Worst Supporting Actress for Expend4bles.
For the men’s category actor Jon Voight was able to bag the top award by winning Worst Actor for his portrayal of Patrick Quin in the action film Mercy. The Worst Supporting Actor went to Sylvester Stallone for his portrayal of Barney Ross in the action film Expend4bles.
