Differential Sex In Substance Use
Men and women both suffer from addiction to drugs and alcohol in similar ways. This means that men are more likely to suffer from addiction to a wide range of substances than women. Men are also more likely than women to die from an overdose or end up in the emergency room.
Soledad House places a strong emphasis on the treatment of men and meeting their specific needs. Our program fosters a sense of companionship, comradery, and compassion among men. Nobody should be forced to deal with addiction alone. Soledad House offers support for patients who are struggling with addiction.
Intensive Outpatient Drug Rehab And Alcohol Rehab
Soledad House’s intensive, outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program provides patients with the care they need. Patients learn skills that can help with both long-term and early recovery. Soledad House has an IOP (intensive-outpatient) program. This 12-week program sees patients visit the facility up to three days a week for a few hours. This level is ideal for those who have at-home obligations such as work or family but still, need professional support.
Soledad House has a multi-faceted IOP program. We offer DBT and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), yoga, meditation, and Wilderness Adventure Therapy. We offer a wide range of services that can be tailored to suit the individual needs of each patient.
Wilderness Adventure Therapy
Wilderness Adventure Therapy allows men in our program to make new friends, get exercise, connect to nature, and have tons of fun sobriety. When patients become sober, a major concern is whether they will be capable of having a good time and not resort to using drugs. Our Wilderness Adventure Therapy offers a range of activities that patients enjoy, including:
- High Rope Training
- You can find more
Patients can enjoy a good time while also practicing mindfulness and finding peace in the present moment. We are aware of how important it is to let go and be relaxed for those in early sobriety. You can do it outdoors, like hiking.
You must have support from others in your recovery process. Wilderness Adventure Therapy allows men to feel connected and brotherly through our program. Many of the relationships they build are lasting.
12 Step Programs Support
Twelve-step programs provide extra support for patients while they are in Soledad House, and once they graduate from the program. Anonymous 12-step programs allow people to talk freely and share without fear.
12-step programs provide a community approach. Twelve-step participants are encouraged to collaborate to reach their common goals. They can work together and offer support to each other.
We encourage our patients and clients to complete a 12-step plan.
For both mind and body, exercise is essential. We provide a wide variety of exercise options for our men. These include meditation, martial art, and others. Men in our treatment program can feel accomplishment and mastery with skill-based exercise. It helps patients feel more confident in times when they are feeling the most vulnerable. BJJ is a form of exercise that allows patients to make new friends and strengthen their bonds.
