Kratom-based supplements are becoming all-too-common in clinics and dispensary shelves around the world. That’s primarily due to emerging research indicating that the herb may help manage a host of medical conditions.

But in the interest of someone who’s encountering this term for the first time, kratom belongs in the coffee family and produces similar stimulating effects. The tree is noted for its mild stimulant and opioid-like properties.

Being a natural remedy, it’s intuitive to imagine that kratom doesn’t induce any worrying side effects. Nothing can be further from the truth. While kratom may not immediately trigger life-threatening reactions, there are still various adverse effects to watch out for.

This post looks at what could happen if you consumed kratom for 15 days, but first things first.

What Are The Health Benefits Of Kratom?

Kratom is generally recommended for pain relief. The herb contains numerous bioactive chemicals that aid the body’s natural pain mediation processes, including the alkaloids mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. When administered, these alkaloids exert their analgesic effects by impacting various opioid receptors in the brain.

Lab tested maeng da kratom affects the same opioid receptors as conventional opioid drugs like morphine and codeine. The primary difference is that the herb is a partial opioid agonist, which implies that it binds partially to opioid receptors. On the contrary, conventional opioids are full opioid agonists – bind fully to opioid receptors.

Kratom’s partial interactions with opioid receptors in the brain explain why the herb presents lower risks of addiction and less severe adverse effects than opioids like morphine. It also explains why some medical experts now recommend the herb for treating various symptoms of opioid withdrawal.

There are various places you can buy wholesale kratom online and use it for pain management. You only need to do some digging to establish the seller’s reputation before buying from them.

In addition to pain, kratom may also boost physical and mental energy. Studies have also cited kratom for its anti-inflammatory benefits. Kratom alleviates inflammation by blocking the activity of the body’s inflammatory markers.

Anxiety and insomnia are other medical conditions that kratom may mediate. That’s due to the herb’s sedative properties.

What Happens If You Take Kratom For 15 Days?

Unfortunately, the answer to this question is not as cut-and-dried as you might expect. Whatever could happen to you after dosing on kratom for 15 days depends on a lot of factors.

For instance, you might take kratom for 15 days and experience NO EFFECT AT ALL. On the other hand, taking kratom consistently for 15 days could leave you nursing a host of adverse effects.

So, the more pertinent question should be the factors that might trigger kratom’s side effects. Not necessarily the actual duration to take kratom.

What Could Go Wrong If You Consumed Kratom For 15 Days?

A recent report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggests that kratom presents minor to moderate side effects.

But it’s worth noting that this report was primarily based on anecdotal as opposed to scientific findings. Also, the report didn’t consider the risks of kratom overdose, which is a real problem with the herb.

In fact, the same CDC reports that there were some 91 fatalities related to kratom overdose across 27 US states between 2016 and 2017. So, while kratom won’t present an immediate danger to users, an overdose changes the whole equation.

The side effects of kratom overdose can be split into two broad categories – mild effects and severe effects.

The mild effects include;

  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Irritability
  • Mood swings
  • Sleep problems
  • Nausea
  • Constipation
  • Headache
  • Frequent urination

And the severe adverse effects of kratom overdose include;

  • Vomiting
  • Hallucinations
  • Confusion
  • Intense agitation
  • Hypertension – high blood pressure
  • Tachycardia – elevated heart rate
  • Anorexia – poor appetite
  • Weight problems
  • Seizures
  • Central nervous system depression
  • Coma

In addition to the above side effects, kratom users should also be wary of addiction and dependency. It’s true that kratom only binds partially to opioid receptors, hence presents lower risks of addiction than conventional opioids.

However, 15 days is long enough to become kratom-dependent, especially if you consume huge doses of the herb

But How Likely Are You to Overdose on Kratom Within 15 Days?

Ninety-one fatalities are way too many to result from a single herb. But let’s be fair to kratom – 91 deaths across 27 states in a whole year sounds more like the exception and not the rule. That’s especially considering that these cases resulted from a kratom overdose.

In other words, the risks of kratom still pale in comparison to those of conventional medicinal and recreational drugs like morphine and heroin. Those risks are even lower if you use kratom in moderation for 15 days.

So, the most important thing to remember is to keep your doses low. Although kratom has no official dosage guidelines, a 2018 study revealed that an amount of up to 5 grams of kratom powder consumed thrice per day worked for most users.
