Telehandler training is widespread in the construction sector. In this post, we’ll present an overview of the telehandler training alternatives available to you, including what’s involved, fees, and the certificates you’ll acquire after training.
1. Cpcs Telehandler Training
CPCS is the most recognized plant operator qualification. The telehandler training course teaches you how to operate a telehandler securely so you may pass the theoretical and practical exams.
2. Npors Telehandler Training
NPORS is the second-most-recognized plant operator certification. NPORS N010 Rough Terrain Telescopic Handler is CPCS A17 Telehandler (all sizes ex slew). Unlike CPCS, the NPORS telehandler theory test is simply 25 multiple-choice questions.
You may be qualified for a one-day experienced worker exam if you have telehandler experience but no qualification. You must complete a profile sheet with job and work experience data to be eligible for this one-day examination. Our NPORS tester will assess your route eligibility after we get this profile form. NPORS recommends a 5-day Telehandler course by Safety Training Academy for beginners.
• Flexibility: Although a beginner course is designed to last 5 days, you might finish it in 4 days and omit the high lift section if you don’t perform high lift duties on-site. Your card will mention that the high lift is not covered. This also applies to traveling slopes, lorry loading, etc.
• Location: NPORS evaluations can be done on-site, not at an approved center. NPORS allows employers the freedom to train up to 4 operators on-site.
Telehandler
NPORS is a flexible approach to becoming a plant operator. The theoretical test has 25 questions (CPCS has 72) and 20 are multiple choice.
Not all building sites accept NPORS; the further you get, the more acceptable it is. If you want to become a qualified telehandler operator before obtaining a job, choose CPCS over NPORS or contact a possible employer to see if they will accept an NPORS certificate.
3. In-House Telehandler Training
In-house telehandler training is provided by BAM Construction Training. A consultation helps us understand the job you undertake on-site so we can develop a customized training session.
An in-house telehandler training session includes a short multiple-choice theoretical test to verify you understand your tasks and responsibilities. Your telehandler training will be mostly hands-on.
Small-medium-sized organizations use in-house telehandler training to give their staff the essential skills needed to operate a telehandler securely.
4. CPCS Vs. NPORS Vs. In-House Recommendations
If you want to become a telehandler operator, choose CPCS training. This is the most recognized qualification, and all employers accept it.
If you need qualified telehandler operators, use CPCS. This is the most recognized qualification and is accepted nationwide.
If you need qualified telehandler operators on a low budget, use NPORS. This is a customizable approach to certifying your operators.
If you need a telehandler operator with the minimum certification, train in-house. This is a customizable approach to teaching on-site operators.
