Angela Ahrendts became the CEO of Burberry in 2006. At the time she was appointed there were many copycats who were using the brand’s iconic tartan design on knockoffs. One of the first things that Ahrendts did as CEO is limit the use of the tartan design to a limited amount of Burberry’s merchandise. This helped reduce the number of copycats.
