Publishing a book online has never been easier as it is today. You have tons of digital platforms that offer you the advantage of self-publishing your book and offer exciting features to promote it online

You’ve written your book, and you’re looking to publish it so you can start selling it on Amazon. But how do you get started? It’s not as hard as you think, so long as you know where to look. In this guide, we take a look at the easiest way to self-publish on Amazon, and how to take advantage of building your brand and making money from your book!

But don’t worry if all this seems overwhelming. You can always hire an Amazon publishing service that will do everything to make your book successfully published on Amazon.

Step 1: Create an Amazon KDP Account

Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) is Amazon’s publishing service for independent authors and publishers. It’s free, it’s easy, and it can get your ebook in front of millions of Amazon customers. To start publishing on Amazon, simply create an Amazon account or log in to your previous account if you already have one.

Step 2: Add Your Book Title and Description

If you are a first-time user, select “Kindle eBook” to create a Kindle listing. Enter your book’s title and subtitle in the appropriate box. Next, select the language you want your book published in and then add your author name.

Add a compelling book description that makes your book stand out among the myriad of books published in your genre. You can write a description of up to 4000 characters.

Step 3: Select the Right Keywords and Categories

You should pay close attention to your keyword selection if you want your book to be successful. Think about your book’s subject matter and select the right keywords that represent its themes and ideas and are words that readers will use to find it.

Organizing books by category helps readers find the type of books they’re looking for. Your book will also appear in Amazon’s digital bookstore. Your book should be placed in the categories and places that will attract its target audience. KDP lets you choose two categories based on the Book Industry Standards and Communications (BISAC) code.

Step 4: Upload Your Manuscript and Book Cover

As soon as you’ve completed your book’s details, you can begin uploading the content files. Your manuscript is the first to upload and after that, comes your book cover.

In order to protect your book from unauthorized distribution, you must enable Digital Rights Management. In other words, people can’t freely share or borrow your book without you getting paid royalties.

After you select the DRM option, you can upload your manuscript. The Kindle Direct Publishing platform supports a variety of file formats, but the two most popular are Kindle Create or Kindle Package Format (KPF) and EPUB.

Step 5: Set a Book Price

Lastly, set a book price between $2.99 and $9.99 to receive 70% of the royalties from your books. If you set a book price below or above this price range, Amazon offers only 35% of royalties.

And that’s it. You can hit that publish button and make your dream of self-publishing a book come true!
